| Before: This is a young, healthy and athletic woman with a 13
year history of varicose veins since pregnancy. Conservative therapy
of compression hose, elevation, pain medication and exercise did not
improve symptoms. These consisted of pain especially on prolonged
standing, heaviness, aching, leg cramps and itching. |
After: Endovenous laser therapy was performed on the greater
saphenous vein and then multiple microphlebectomies to remove with
the surface varicose veins. The procedure was one in the office
under local anesthesia. This patient was able to resume most normal
activities within two days and able to exercise normally after a
week or so. This picture was taken 6 months after the procedure.
Smaller veins will be injected at a later time. |

| Before: Skin breakdown in not uncommon in vein disease of many
years. This man had suffered with large varicose veins and multiple
small ulcers around his ankles for many years. Although compression
stockings slowed down the process, the sores would not heal. He was
unable to go through orthopedic knee surgery he needed due to the
presence of chronic venous insufficiency and the poor healing
associated with it. |
After: This picture was taken four months after the Endovenous
Laser procedure. He also underwent many Microphlebectomies to remove
very large, bulging varicose veins. Note that the ankle is now
slimmer with his ankle bones visible and that the small ulcers are
healed. His skin condition continues to improve. |
